I've been working out for 7 years now and have varied in weight between 225 lbs and 109 lbs. That's a lot.. more than double to be exact. The truth is, dieting is very simple. Food is simply energy. If you give your body more energy than you use in a day, you will get bigger or gain weight. If you give your body less energy than it uses in a day, you will lose weight. It's a careful balance.

The truth about carbs:

Carbs are the best form of energy that your body can use. If you don't take in enough carbs, you will find yourself tired. If you take in too much carbs, your body struggles to burn it off and you will also find yourself weak and tired. This is called "hitting the wall". Every person needs to find their balance of how active they are and how much carbs they should eat on a daily basis. It is not wise to eliminate carbs completely from your diet because you will simply have no energy. If you normally consume a certain amount of carbs and find yourself gaining weight, simply replace the amount of carbs eaten with protein instead. The best meats to eat are namely fish, chicken, and turkey. They contain the highest amount of proteins and the least amount of fat. Eat less rice, noodles, cereal, and bread. Exercise more and do more cardiovascular work.


My personal daily intake is the following:
70% protein
20% carbs
10% fat


try mixing and matching different ratios for the perfect amount that you are satisfied with. Good luck!
